Interview with Russ Tessman

Give us a little insight about your career history?
I have been recruiting at the Vermillion Group for nearly twenty years. As the most tenured recruiter here, I have seen a lot of changes. But one basic doesn't change: we have a group of recruiters who genuinely care about the clients and candidates with whom they are working. Personally, I have worked in several different industries, but thoroughly enjoy working with information technology professionals and medical personnel.
What do you enjoy most about being a recruiter?
We are in the business of changing people's lives for the better. I have helped many clients to find a star employee who stepped in and immediately began to solve problems for them. I have helped many candidates to find their dream job. My drawer is filled with thank yous from both clients and candidates!
What would be the best piece of advice you could offer a candidate?
If you want to find a recruiter to help you find your dream job, make sure that you find a recruiter who works in the niche and the geography in which you are seeking a new opportunity. Recruiters cannot help everyone.

Family
I have been blessed with five wonderful children. They are all incredibly unique and different from one another. But I am so proud of them because I think that every one of them is known as a person with integrity who is thoughtful, kind, fun and dependable. They are all very hard workers. And now I have been blessed with the most wonderful little girl in the world who will soon call me, "Grandpa!" when she eventually learns how to talk.
